1 pound ground beef
medium onion, diced
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 cup dry rice(I use brown
1 can diced tomatoes
3 cups chopped cabbage
salt and pepper to taste!.
brown beef and drain off fat!. Add onion, garlic and cabbage and saute a bit, Add the rice, tomatoes and salt and pepper and a can of water!. Stir to blend and bring to a boil!. Cover tightly and turn down heat to low!. Allow to simmer, checking every 10 minutes or so to add water if needed!. Dish is finished when rice is tender!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

CABBAGE ROLLS "CIGARS"
Yield: 1 Servings

2 lb Ground beef
2 c Long-grain rice
2 ts Cinnamon
2 ts Salt
1 Onion -- finely diced
1 lg Head cabbage

Boil cabbage until leaves are soft!. Cool!. save the boiling liquid!.
Mix the rest of the ingredients well!. Divide mixture into several
cabbage leaves!. Place in a large pot!. Cover cabbage rolls with a
mixture of canned tomatoes, tomato sauce and the boiling liquid from
the cabbage!. Be sure the liquid comes above all cabbage rolls!. Cover
rolls and liquid with extra cabbage leaves!. Cover pot and bake at 350
degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours






DRESSED CABBAGE (IRISH)
Yield: 4 Servings

1 x Cabbage
4 tb Butter
3 tb Bacon stock or water
1 pn Nutmeg or mace
1/2 ts Flour
1 x Pepper

Shred the cabbage!. Melt half the butter in a heavy pot; then add the
cabbage and toss until covered with the butter!. Add bacon stock or
water, cover and cook gently for about 20 minutes!. By this time the
liquid should be nearly absorbed, and the cabbage cooked!. Add the
nutmeg or mace, the flour, and stir well; then add the rest of the
butter and toss until melted into the cabbage!. Add pepper if needed






FRIED CABBAGE

1 firm head cabbage
3-4 tbsp!. bacon drippings or butter

Wash and chop cabbage as for cole slaw!.
Put into preheated pan containing bacon drippings or butter!.
Season to taste with salt and pepper!.
Cook in a tightly covered pan on medium low heat until done, about 20-25 minutes!.






Buttery Cabbage
Serves: 6 to 8

1/4 pound bacon
1 medium head cabbage, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until crisp!. Remove the bacon from the pot; let cool, then crumble and set aside!.

Add the remaining ingredients to the pot!. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender, stirring frequently!.

Sprinkle with the crumbled bacon, toss, and serve!.







Pennsylvania Dutch Sour Cream Cabbage
Yields 8 to 12 servings!.

1 medium head cabbage, shredded
1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 pint (2 cups) sour cream
2 cups distilled white vinegar

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat!. Add cabbage, salt and pepper and cook until tender, 15 to 20 minutes!.

Mix sugar and flour together in a medium bowl, then add sour cream and mix well; finally stir in vinegar and mix well!. Add mixture to cabbage and simmer all together until desired consistency is reached

1 head of cabbage
Cut cabbage in half then quarter the halves!. You will have 8 pieces!. Tear off 8 pieces of alluminum foil!. Place a piece on foil 5-7 dashes of hot sauce ( I use Louisana Hot Sauce) squirt some squeeze butter on top of cabbage and a little salt and pepper!. Wrap the cabbage in the foil grill on low flame for about 45 minutes!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
