Hey! I Pickled my own Onions about 3 weeks ago using a Recipe I've used many times before, I checked them this week and the Vinegar appears cloudy - Is there a problem!? It's like a cloudy residue at the bottom of the Jars!. Anyone know what i've done wrong or if it can be rectified!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Read your recipe closely!.!.!.it probably says to use a particular type of salt!. That means NON iodized salt!. The pickle books - the ones that are put out by the vinegar manufacturers say that if you use salt with iodine in it the solution your pickles may get cloudy!. I have used iodized salt, and the pickles are just fine, but I try to refrain from using the iodized salt!. Because of the acid in your product, they are safe to eat!. If they smell a little funny or have an off taste, I would toss them!. I would bet that they will be just fine though!Www@FoodAQ@Com
