What have you cut out of your grocery list to try to save money?!
Answers:
Not much lately!. I have been a SAHM for over four years now and learned how to buy groceries on a lean budget long ago as a matter of survival!. I shop at the cheapest grocery store around, clip coupons (from rewards cards and online free coupon sites) and plan meals around sale items!. I make alot of dinners in the crock pot and double the recipe so I can freeze leftovers and pull them out at our convenience!. I also buy in bulk from Costco and save most of our money that way!. They have the best prices on cheese, milk, bread, butter, coffee and meat, and I also get our crackers, cereal, mac & cheese and juice there!. I save at least $10-20 a week buying those items there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes in fact we had to change supermarkets all together, plus no I order the sunday paper to help with the savings!. I buy only the things we needs and 1 or 2 extra things like, things that will last!. I use to buy cookies and cakes now I make them to save money!. I plan out the meals for 6 days and that's all we buy on Sunday's!. Then the next week we do the samething!. I cut out on the paper towels that cost more and buy cheap TP, plus cheaper washing powered and dishwashing liquid!. I also make bread in my bread machine!. We buy dollar toothpaste, cheaper soap, in fact we went to bar soap!. also we changed to brand name things like kraft, to the supermarket brands, and that saved a lot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't buy pre-prepared foods (like macaroni salad or anything from the grocery store salad bar or deli), frozen foods, or canned goods (except I still buy canned solid albacore tuna)!.
I buy fresh food!.
Canned vegetables and processed foods like balogna and hotdogs contain lots of water, so you get less nutrition for your buck!.
Don't buy stick margerine (it's worse for you than butter)!. The stuff in the tubs is okay, though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I haven't cut anything out!. I have cut back!. I do cook ahead and I plan menus!.
For example, I bought a nice sirloin tip roast!. Instead of letting hubby slice up all the left overs for sandwiches, I cubed some of the left over roast and froze it in gravy for beef pot pie next week!. I did slice enough meat for hubby to have three sandwiches!.
And, I've included two vegetarian main meals into our weekly menu!. I look for budget vegetarian recipes!. Examples: we love good potato salad!. Potato salad (with eggs), lima beans and corn muffins make a satisfying and inexpensive supper!. One night last week, I served corn fritters as the main course with green beans and apple-raisin salad!.
My husband like that dinner a lot!.
Main meal menu planning over the years has saved me more money than anything else I've tried!. I plan for two weeks to keep the shopping trips down!. And, often "free meals" sneak into the plan so I can move something forward!. An example of this would be an easy chili pie, I'll be making tonight using two leftover hamburger patties (that I didn't expect to have left)!. I'll break them up saute with some onion and garlic and canned beans!. I'll put it into a 1 quart casserole with some mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese over it!. We'll have the chicken scheduled for tonight on some other menu!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Anything not on sale!. I have always been a careful shopper, and always have a bit of things on hand!. Now I figure up menus using what I have and what is on sale!. With a family of 7(2 parents, 4 kids, and a grandparent) with one income we have to make every dollar stretch!. I'm also doing a lot more "cooking from scratch"!. That saves me money!. I have also cut out a lot of chips, cookies, ect!. I bake cookies and such at home and that helps too!. I have quit buying frozen pizza and making homemade!. That's all I can think of now, and I hope it helps!.

A grocery list is the best idea and try to stick to it !. The "oh that looks so good " items, are a no-no!. The sweet, junk food type stuff would be my 1st suggestion!. Try cutting down on paper towels, dish cloths work better, can be easily rinsed, used again and free !. Just a thought!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Condoms!. I got married recently!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
