Can you go immediately from the oven to the refrigerator or freezer?!

Question: Can you go immediately from the oven to the refrigerator or freezer!?
is it a myth that you're suppose to let your food cool off firstWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No!. Please don;t listen to the other people!. It's not a myth!. It needs to cool at least 20-30 minutes first, of course depending on what it is you are maing!.

While lowering the temp right away is a good thing to keep it out of the danger zone, placing somethng that just came from a 350 degree oven in the freezer/fridge will rasie the temp of the freezer/fridge and put everything else in the danger zone!. also the fridge can;t drop the temp back down right away!. It takes time, specially when it now has all of this warm food to chill as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes I just had micro in college and you don't want food to cool down!. The best thing to do is cool it down AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, don't let food sit out over 30 minutes, this will cause bacteria to grow on it!. We did this in a lab class and bacteria grew on my pasta and I had it out for only 25 minutes :(Www@FoodAQ@Com

You want to cool down as fast as possible unless it is something that needs to "set up"!. When foods cool down that is when bacteria will grow so DO NOT LET FOOD COOL DOWN!! The less time in the danger zone the less chance of getting sick!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think it's a myth!. Especially when your putting the food in a plastic bag!. I cooked something in the oven once, then put it into a plastic bag into the fridge and it popped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

As long as it's in an oven-safe dish (impervious to all extreme temperatures, definitely best to use a non-glass dish), then you can put it straight in the refrigerator or freezer!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I prefer to let my food cool first, particularly if I am freezing as the hot food will start to thaw out other foods before it chills and freezers, and it takes less time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you let the food cool first, then do with it as you wantWww@FoodAQ@Com
