Quick! I don't have parchment paper!?!
I'm baking something in the oven at 400 degrees F!. I just realized I don't have parchment paper!. Wax paper burns at that temperature and I don't have spray pam!. What are some substitutes!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
You can lubricate the pan with Crisco shortening, or put some vegetable cooking oil on a folded up paper towel and wipe the surfaces (which has the same outcome as using Pam spray)!.!.!.
Hope this helps!

Your best option without parchment paper is vegetable oiled aluminum foil!. You will likely have to reduce the cooking time, due to the heating properties of the foil!. You will experience some sticking, but it's unless you're using a nonstick sheet pan, mold, etc that you can bake directly on, I think oiled foil will be your easiest option!. If it's something that needs a very clean release, you could use the old bakers trick of beating 50% AP flour and 50% shortening together until smooth, and lubing every surface that you will be cooking on!. This works well on vessels with sides, but you have to make sure the flour mixture is very thin!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can put a little cooking oil in the pan and use a paper towel and rub it around the area also you can springle flour around it and that helps also!. Instead of using parchment paper try alumium foil!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
I like the non-stick aluminum foil!. You can reuse it a few times!. We use it for nachos in a restaurant and even burned cheese won't stick to it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Butter, oil, shortening!.!.!. you can also "oil" some brown paper!. Just make sure you trim it close to the baking pan edge!.
My grandmother did this!. Thin brown paper!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
