That's happened to me before and they never got soft - until I pressure cooked them for about 10 minutes!. Do you have a pressure cooker!? I think that's the only way to salvage them!. Good thing beans are cheap, eh!? Be sure you soak them overnight or do the 3 minute boil, 1 hour soak thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
they should be soft in about 1 1/2 hours!. I would say it is a hopeless case!. i personally have never had that happen to me but a freind of mine tried cooking baked beans for 3 days!. Great tasteing pebbles but that was it!!. I have heard that the addition of salt or tomato product will cause this to happen!. I am so paranoid about that that neither items go into my pot of beans until they are all tender!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Did you soak them first!? Normally, they're soaked in water overnight, and then cooked for 4 to 6 hours the next day!. They will be soft and tender that way!.
Yours should eventually get soft!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know if you did, but if you salted the water you cooked them in they may never get soft!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
