Attention cookie bakers! maybe u can help?!

Question: Attention cookie bakers! maybe u can help!?
Last year (i call it my lazy year) I purchased premade cookie dough ( pillsbury) and I tried to make Christmas tree looking cookies!. All u had to do was roll the dough between your plams to make sort of a worm like look and just zig-zag starting from a longer to a shorter tip to form a tree!. Well when i baked them they all went flat and lost their shape!! The book i got the idea from was a pillsbury book, and the picture they had looked absolutely perfect! Why didnt it work for me!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
you need to chill the dough first, then roll the dough out no thicker than 1/4 inch!.!.!.use a cookie cutter dusted with flour to cut the shapes!.!.!.place them on a cookie sheet and then chill them on the cookie sheet for about 10-15 minutes!.!.!.this will solve both problems!.!.!.the thinness will help them bake and rise up better and the chilling will help them not loose their shape!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always freeze store bought cookie dough!. They tend to hold their shape and have crisp edges and gooey middles (well, chocolate chip anyway lol)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

try a cookie cuter and make them thinner and then they will puff up!. also to make them softer put in 1/4 cup of mayo!.!. i know sounds gross but you will be amazeddWww@FoodAQ@Com

because you need to roll out sugar cookie dough and use a cookie cutter to shape themWww@FoodAQ@Com
