A question for the gourmet chefs?!

Question: A question for the gourmet chefs!?
When making Ramen noodles, do you crunch the noodles up or leave them in the brick before you put them in the boiling water!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
While the noodles are still in the package, I break them in half going across the width of the brick!. This way the little pieces of noodle will stay inside the package!. After I boil the noodles, I add the flavor packet BEFORE I remove the pan from the heat source!. If you remove the heat source first, steam will rise from the pan and will cause the flavoring to clot up while inside the packet!. I then stir the noodles then let stand for 5 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here is how I do it: http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=0CV7VIJdB!.!.!.

First, bring four cups of distilled mountain spring water to a boil in a copper-bottomed stainless steel pot!. This allows for the water to heat quickly and evenly, while giving ample room for the noodles to expand and the starch to release!. I then add a dash of extra-virgin olive oil, hand-pressed and infused with herbs, organically grown from seed in my own windowsill!. Then I add the noodles!. I always leave them in brick form, as I don't like to disturb the integrity of this delicacy!. But, as you know, Ramen noodles are versatile and can be broken up if you wish!. I always be sure to add all the little broken noodle pieces at the bottom of the package, as well!.

I cook mine al dente, or, for three minutes!. After straining them in my $50 Pampered Chef colander, I give them a quick ice bath to retain firmness!. This is called ''shocking the pasta'', but I prefer to mildly intimidate it!.

The final step is the most important and crucial to the Ramen preparation process: adding that little bullion packet!. One must be sure that enough water is left in the noodles to mix properly according to taste!. I like mine watery, but not too watery, as when the noodles are too dry the bullion sticks, and if they are too wet it does not stick enough!.

Its of utmost importance to open the little packet away from the steaming, freshly cooked noodles, and to refrain from stirring the noodles as you pour the bullion into them!. If steam gets into the packet, it will cause the bullion to moisten and stick to the inside of the packet, thus preventing you from getting your full serving!.

I apologize if I went overboard with my answer, but Ramen noodles are an important part of my life and I felt it necessary to elaborate a bit!.

Great question!. Have a star!Www@FoodAQ@Com
