Will brushing my pie crust with milk change its texture? ?!
I really dislike the taste of egg and have never brushed any of my pastry with an egg wash!. However, I would like to give my pie a nice sheen, but I am afraid that brushing it with milk will change the texture!. My crusts bake up flaky!. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated! Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar during the last 5 minutes or so of baking!. This will help the crust brown real nice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
put a lil bit of milk and sprinkle some sugar, or just put the sugar without any milk, iam assuming it is a bit buttery, so no need for milk to hold the sugarWww@FoodAQ@Com
Milk will work and chnage the texture or taste of the crust!. But eggs give a nice gloss and I don't taste the egg becuase it is such a small amount!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
