Is there a way to separate frozen ground hamburger?!

Question: Is there a way to separate frozen ground hamburger!?
I have 3 lbs of frozen ground hamburger that I'd like to separate if I can!. The meals that I would like to make with it only require 1 lb, and I don't want to thaw it all out if I'm not going to use it all!. Is there a way to separate it while it is frozen!?

also, what is a quicker way to thaw frozen hamburger!? (I'd like to use 1 lb of it tonight, if possible)!.

Thanks so much for any help! =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

Payday's on the right track!. Take the batch out, figure out where you want to separate it, and press hard with a sharp knife to make a dent and keep working at it with either a sharp knife or one with a saw edge (serrated) on it until you can snap it apart and then freeze the other two pounds!.

If I forget to leave the meat out to defrost in the morning before I leave for work, then I just use the micro on it when I get home!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No idea how to separate it frozen!. But to unfreeze, put it in a ziplock and into enough cold (ie as it comes from the tap) water!. Water is really good for taking away heat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like Payday's answer, and the chef lady's answer two places below it!.

I would use a saw or serrated knife or a chisel and a hammer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cut it with a saw!!!!! You should have separated it before you put it in the freezer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
