Need recipe help fast. What can I do with the following ingredients, that combines with yesterdays leftovers?!
Okay, this is the situation!.
Yesterday I made a very tasty chicken recipe!. I made sort of a stew from drumsticks, tomato sauce, lemon, using herbs & spices like coriander, turmeric, coriander, saffron, ginger, garlic and onions!.
I put chick peas in the sauce and the whole thing has got a middle-east kind of taste!. It's fresh because of the lemon and tomatoes, with a hint of a curry!.
Now, I have some leftovers from that, but not enough for a whole meal!.
I want to combine it with an other dish, made with prawns!.
By the way, I want to eat it with bread, not rice!.
So, I want to make something with the prawns!.
I'm doubting between having a sauce based on tomatoes, or on coconut milk!. Since the other meal is already based on tomatoes, I am not too sure if I want an other dish based on it, but of course the two dishes do need to work together!.
Any suggestions!?
This is what I have:
1 tin tomato cubes in sauce
1 tin coconut milk
shrimps
onion
garlic
lemon
plenty of herbs and spices
different oils and soy sauces (and fish sauce)
Thanks!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would stick with the tomato sauce, the coconut milk might not be so good!. You could add shrimp, but most certainly add sauteed onions with some garlic!. I would not add additional spices from the original recipe, just use the ingredients that will make a little more of what you have and by adding shrimp it will seem like a new batch of what was probably an AWESOME meal!. Using the coconut would be good if you had NOT already put lemon in it!. Since you did, I would try adding 1 T brown sugar, a can of diced tomatoes, more turmeric, coriander, and some cumin and a dash of cinnamon/clove!. If it is thick, add 1/2 can chicken stock or some water!.
At the end, stream in some HEAVY CREAM and peas!.
Serve with naan!.

HMMM- do you have any chicken broth!? or veg broth-if not water will do - cook your prawns-add water or broth to your chicken leftovers- add 1 cup cold water with 2 TBS cornstarch or flour pour that in and cook til bubbly that will stretch the leftovers, then pour over a good sourdough or italian crusty bread!.!.!.!.sort of like an open faced hot sandwich!.!.!.season to tasteWww@FoodAQ@Com
I would use the chicken dish as a base!. pull chicken from bone if not already off!. cook shrimp in a combo of coconut milk and tomatoes with same herbs and spices as chicken when almost done add chicken dish in and heat through!. would be very good served over toasted crusty bread slices!. Because your chicken already has a tomato base, I would add the onions, garlic, tomato cubes and prawns, (along with some italian seasoning, oregano and basil) and make a chicken and shrimp marinara served over linguine or any other pasta!.

Make soupWww@FoodAQ@Com
spicy shrimp in coconut sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 teaspoon chopped garlic
1 small onion halved then sliced
1 cup light coconut milk
1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons soy sauce
Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and cook the garlic and onion until fragrant Stir in coconut milk, chicken broth, red pepper flakes, and soy sauce!. Bring to boil for 5 minutes then reduce heat and allow to simmer without boiling Add shrimp and stir till pink remember that it will continue to cook after so as not to overcook!.
I would serve this as a main course along side your other dish ,the bread I would turn into crostini
slice thinly and toast before or after rubbing with garlic and brushing on olive oil!.
