In making a pie crust, how do you "pulse"?!

Question: In making a pie crust, how do you "pulse"!?
"Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a food processor; pulse to mix!." What does "pulse" mean exactly!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Pulsing is just what it says - you press the button on and off until you achieve the right texture and then when adding liquid you leave it running until the mixture comes together and forms a ball
If you are using pulsing on relatively dry ingredients you are doing it just to finely chop the ingredients Www@FoodAQ@Com
