What kind of recipes do you like?!
Okay, so I have a newly started recipe blog (allveg!.blogspot!.com) and I was just curious if there were any particular recipes people would be interested in seeing!. I love cooking and would definitely try out any recipes and post them for other people to enjoy!. Any ideas!? :) It's all vegetarian, but since fake meat is available recipes including meat are fine as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

also, might I recommend that having a section in your blog which names good vegetarian cookbooks would be helpful to some ~ I'm neither new to being vegetarian nor cooking, but am always interested in what others are using/reading!. I made some oatmeal/raisin cookies today and everybody likes them!. recipe1 box of spice cake mix!. 3 med eggs or 2 large eggs!. 1/2 cup of vegetable oil!.1 1/2 cups of quick oats!. 1 cup of raisins mix all ingrediants together with a hand mixer, on low, I mixed the oatmeal and raisins by hand, drop on a greased cookie sheet bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 9 minutes!. I made large cookies so I bake them for 10 minutes!. also if you are colesterol conscious omit the egg yolks by putting 4 egg whites in instead of the whole eggs!. they come out cake like not hard!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Apple Pie a la Mode
3/4 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons all purpose flower
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
7 cups thinnly sliced apples
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
2-9 inch pie crusts
4 tablespoons milk
vanilla icecream
Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon peel line one pie crust in a 9 inch deep dish pie pan!. Layer 1/3 apples in pie crust!. sprinkle with sugar mixture and repeat until done!. sprinkle with lemon juice and
dot with butter!. Place 2nd pie crust on top of filling and flute the edges!. cut vents in crust and brush with milk for a glazed appearance!.
Bake for 40 to 50 minutes!.
Let cool then serve each slice with a scoop of vanilla icecream:)
Devil's Steak Sauce
2 tablespoons raspberry jam
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 tablespoons malt vinegar
5 drops hot pepper sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
In a saucepan over high heat, blend raspberry jam, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, malt vinegar, hot pepper sauce, salt, and pepper!. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to low, and simmer 10 minutes, or until thickened!.
Garlic Mushrooms
24 mushrooms, approximately 1 poun
1 medium finely chopped onion
4 tablespoons butter
6 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sherry
dash pepper
? cup fresh bread crumbs
8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese
Remove stems from mushrooms and finely chop them!. Wipe caps with damp paper towel; set aside!. Saute onion in 4 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat until crispy-brown but not burned!. Add garlic, stems, soy sauce, sherry and pepper!. Cook until mushrooms are soft and have changed color!. Add fresh bread crumbs; raise heat to high!. Cook, stirring constantly, until moisture is absorbed!. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons more fresh bread crumbs, if needed!. Remove from heat and cool slightly!. Add Mozzarella cheese and mix thoroughly!.
Stuff mushroom caps with cooked mixture and place in a 9 x 13-inch pan!.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes until mushrooms are cooked and cheese is melted!. Makes 24 appetizers!.
Green Papaya Salad
1/4 pound small shrimp, shelled
3 cloves garlic, peeled
3 fresh green chili peppers
6 green beans, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 large unripe papaya, peeled and cut into thin strips
1 tomato, halved and seeded
2 tablespoons fish sauce
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons finely chopped unsalted, dry-roasted peanuts
In a small saucepan of boiling salted water cook shrimp 45 seconds to 1 minute, or until cooked through!. In a colander drain shrimp and rinse under cold water to stop cooking!. Halve shrimp horizontally and
de-vein!. In a food processor coarsley chop the garlic, chili peppers, and green beans!. Mix in the papaya, and process into small chunks!.
Mix in the tomato, fish sauce, lime juice, and sugar!. Process the mixture until soft and slightly chunky!. Transfer into a medium bowl!. Add shrimp!. Stir in peanuts!. Cover and refrigerate until serving!. Bring
salad to room temperature before serving!.
Hot and Sour Soup
8 dried shiitake mushrooms
4 cups chicken stock
1/3 cup diced bamboo shoots
1/3 cup lean ground pork
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons corn starch
3 tablespoons water
1/2 (16 oz) package firm tofu, cubed
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons thinly sliced scallions
Soak the dried shiitake mushrooms in warm water for 20 minutes!. After trimming off any tough stems, slice the mushrooms!. Place the mushrooms, chicken stock, bamboo shoots, and shredded pork into a saucepan!. Bring to a boil, and Simmer for 10 minutes!. Stir in soy sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, and red wine vinear!. Combine cornstarch with 3 tablespoons water!. Add a little of the hot soup to the cornstarch, and then return all to the pan!. Heat to boiling, stirring!. Add the tofu, and cook 1-2 minutes!. Just before serving, turn off the heat!. Stir the egg in gradually!. Mix in sesame oil!. Sprinkle each serving with scallions!.
Hot Tamale Pie
1 1/4 pounds ground pork
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium jalapeno chile, seeds removed, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
16 oz salsa
1 cup frozen whole-kernel corn
2 1/4 cups whole milk
1 3/4 cups chicken broth
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
preheat broiler
Heat 12 inch skillet over high heat until hot!. Add pork and cook 5-6 minutes or until no longer pink, braking up meat with side of spoon!. Drain meat and transfer to bowl!. Wipe skillet clean!.
