Baking a cake...no flour to dust the pan can I use?!
Pancake mix!? lol I dunno its the closest I can come up with!. Then again the pans are nonstick so do I really need them!?!? THANKS!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
yes you could use pancake mix just sift it first and knock out any extra just as you would flour!. Yes you still need to even with non stick as it is sticky sometimes!.
NOTE: wax paper can leave a waxy residue in your pan and on your cake!. yes you can use cooking spray , butter is not recommended as it contains water!. which in turn causes steam!. VERY VERY thin coating of Crisco is fine as well!.
If you have parchment paper handy that would be an Excellent choice to cut a round out of to line the bottom of the pan!.
you can use a metal mesh strainer to sift that would work great
have fun

do not use pancake mix!!! the corn starch in the pancake mix will make the mix stick to the pan!. you may use butter, or pam or crisco!.!. but if your pan is nonstick, and you have none of these things then just take the chance!. if your pan is fairly new, it will be fine!. if it's kind of old, you may stop by a neighbor's house!. you could also use vegetable oil or olive oil!. do not use pancake mix, you will regret it!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes, pancake mix does work for that, I've done it before!. You don't need much with a nonstick pan, unless it has scratches on the surface!.
Another thing you can do is cut a piece of wax paper by tracing it around the outside of the bottom of the pan, and place that circle of wax paper inside the pan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i would just not dust at all then!. just butter it!. i'm not sure how pancake mix would work!.!.!. i mean there's probably baking powder or soda in it so you don't know how it would react!. and you might get a funky tasting crust around the cake!.
good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, that will work!. I would grease & dust the pans just in case!. It never hurts to be extra cautious, especially with a super-moist cake!. You might need to sift the pancake mix into the pan to remove the lumps!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Do you have any parchment paper!? You only need to butter that, and not even that much butter!. I would just skip the flour and make sure not to bake until perfectly done, not over or underbaked!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you are baking a cake from a boxed mix, just use a bit of the dry mix!. Or you can just grease the pans and it should work fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Non-stick spray or vegetable oil will work!. If you wish to remove the cake from the pan, do so while it is still warm, but not immediately after baking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Just use butter with no flour - but you probably don't need it if it's glass!. I always use non-stick spray though no matter if it says that I need it or not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Very lightly, or use powdered unsweetened Chocolate!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
