An oven proof covered casserole dish should work as long as the temp is not too high for the dish!. The maximum oven temp should be listed on the bottom of the dish!. ?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, a casserole dish with lid is okay as long as it can withstand the temp!. the recipe calls for -- and if it's large enough!. A dutch oven is fairly large!. What I would use instead is an enamel roaster which could hold at least five or six litres/quarts, but you may not have one!.
*Okay, I looked up a recipe, it's basically a stew!. Just make sure whatever you use in the oven is large enough, and it doesn't need a high temp!. This recipe is simmered on the stove -
