Need ideas for a romantic "make-up" dinner?!
My fiance and I had our first argument ever this past weekend (nothing major Nikki, don't worry!) and while it wasn't a major fight, I want to cook him something nice for dinner on Thursday (my next day off!.!.!.I work weird hours- 5 am to 2 pm and don't feel like cooking on work days)!. Price isn't necessarily an issue, but I don't want to spend $100 on one meal either!. Steaks are out because we've had them recently, chicken is out because by Thurs we will have been eating chicken for the past 3 days or so (leftovers from a bbq this weekend)!. Pasta isn't necessarily out, but when it comes to pasta, I'm a homemade kinda girl and homemade stuff takes forever!. I don't mind spending about an hour in the kitchen preparing a meal and dessert, but anything over that is a little too much!.
also, any ideas for dessert!? Nothing "cheap" like cake or brownies, please!.
also, we're both fans of beef, pork, and seafood!. We also both LOVE mushrooms (white or portabellas)!. Pretty much anything goes!. I'm allergic to onions, but can alter that part if they're in the recipe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try this, it's a beef roast that's marinated in white wine and stuffed with mushrooms (the recipe is in the link below)!. I made it and we both really liked it!. Serve with mashed potatoes or scalloped potatoes and asparagus if you like it, or broccoli, something green!. And for desert, how about creme brulee!? I just buy the mixes from bed bath and beyond or linens and things and they're still pretty darned good even if it's not completely from scratch!.

Any good at apple crisp!? It's not too hard but will take most of the hour!. While it's cooking you can whip up spaghetti, just use the store-bought pasta!. And maybe some garlic bread!. A bottle of sweet red wine, should be nice!. I think I talked myself into making this same meal! Or should I just come over and help you, I mean hey if things don't work out!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Shrimp sauteed in a butter, lemon, and white wine sauce!. Serve it over couscous tossed with sweet green peas, sauteed mushrooms, and shallots (they're related to onions though so you might be allergic to them)!. The meal doesn't take long to cook, and you can marinate the shrimp for even more flavor!. For dessert make a no bake cheesecake ( 8 ounces cream cheese ,1/3 cup white sugar,2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped mixed together and put in a ready made graham cracker crust) topped with strawberries or blueberries!.
