Have you ever fogotten to add a main component to a recipe and it turned out better?!

Question: Have you ever fogotten to add a main component to a recipe and it turned out better!?
I just made homemade waffles!. I have been searching for a good recipe online and tried a new one today, but I forgot to add the oil!. Every waffle recipe, I have found, has either a quarter to half cup of oil or melted butter in it!. I just completely forgot to add the quarter cup of oil this recipe called for!. Funny thing is they turned out awesome, very light and fluffy!. I am use to tweaking a recipe to make it my own, like a bit of vanilla or some cinnamon, but nothing like leaving out that much oil, maybe just cutting it a little!. Has this happened to anyone else!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

oh my goodness YES>>> my husband was helping my 4yo son make some cookies to enter into the local fair!. They were supposed to be mrs fields chocolate chip cookies!. Well he forgot to put the flour mixture into it!. when they just melted and turned into a soggy mess in the oven, he took it out and mixed it into the flour mix and then redid the cookies again in the oven!. This time they made the most fudgiest, chewiest, chocolate cookies you have ever tasted!. I would never have thought to do this on my own but my son won first place for that cookie mistake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

um no, not to my knowledge!.!.!.!. As a chef i never leave out key ingredients, but i am still able to make the dish my own by adding an extra ingredient, like in the waffles i would of add some vanilla esscence!.

You were very lucky they turned out as well as they did!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sometimes I will experiment with a recipe and it will turn out great!. Then I will try to recreate it and forget what I did!. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!. My husband jokes that my best dishes are created when I get my juices flowing (have a few drinks while I cook), but then I never remember exactly what I did!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I accidentally used a much smaller amount of lime juice in a lime custard pie!. Somehow I mismeasured the sugar as well!. The pie turned out so light and refreshing, mild instead of sour and strong!. Everyone devoured it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My luck's never run that good! But hooray! You've found a way to make the texture better and reduce calories! I may leave out the oil/butter next time I make waffles, too, and see what happens! At least I won't feel so guilty when I put butter on top of them to eat them!Www@FoodAQ@Com

no not really!. did it taste nice!?

vote me please so i can be level 2 thank you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
