How to cook beans in crock pot??!


Question: How to cook beans in crock pot!?!?
first time i have tried to cook beans, i put 4 hrs on high and they are still hard!!!!! what did i do wrong!!! did i need to soak them first or what!?!?!?!?!? can someone please tell me the steps to cook them and on what setting! i have that pot that has 4 or 6 hrs on high and 8 or 10 hrs on low! which one is it!?!?!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, you must soak beans first!. I soak my dry beans in enough water to cover them by a couple of inches overnight, then drain the water off and cook them with new water in the crock pot on high for 4 hours!.

I also add a ham hock, some chopped onion and celery to the crock pot!. And don't forget the cornbread!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Boil the beans first until the skins roll back when you blow on a spoonful of them!. I've made many pots of French Canadian beans and this is how you do it!. I bake them in a low oven (300) for 5 hrs!. Since you are using a crock pot, put the boiled beans in with your other ingred!., (molasses, brown sugar, bacon, whatever and liquid)!. 8 hrs!. on low should be perfect!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
