Crock pot recipes or other easy recipes?!

Question: Crock pot recipes or other easy recipes!?
I'm a full time working wife and mother!. By the time I get home at night it's usually around 7-8pm, and the last thing I want to do is spend the little bit of time I have with my daughter trying to cook dinner also!. I've decided to try using the crock pot, or even slow cooking in the oven!. Something that I can throw together either the night before or early in the morning before I leave for work, turn on and let cook all day so that it's ready when I get home!. Tonight we are having chili and tomorrow night is a pork roast!. I've searched some websites, but most of the recipes have a lot of prep, I'm looking more for something I can just throw in, stir up, and let cook!. Please don't send me a link to a website and tell me to check it out, I've done that and to be honest I prefer something that someone else can tell me was good or not, in other words!.!.!.something you have made yourself!. Thanks!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love my crock pot!. I HATE mushrooms and I will substitute Cream of Celery or Cream of Chicken!. I just started using the crock pot liners too - OMG they are the best thing!. Hardly any clean up after - I highly recommend them!

NOTE: The size of the beans, corn and salsa depends on how much chicken you are cooking!. You can also use bone in if you want (adds time to the cooking)!. If you over cook - this is dry as heck!.

Salsa Chicken

Boneless Chicken
1 Jar of Salsa (I like the southwest w/corn & beans)
1 Jar of black beans (rinsed)
1 bag of frozen corn (can is fine too)
Shredded Jack Cheese

Place chicken in crock pot!. Add salsa, corn & beans!. Depending on how long the crock pot will be on, I would suggest a LOW setting!. The normal cook time for this is 4 hours!. My crock pot has a warm, low and high setting!. I found that the warm works for an all day thing when I have to work!. The last 1/2 hour you add the shredded cheese to the top (basically until it melts)!. I didn't put times in, because from what you stated it would be while you are at work!.

I have a great pork recipe too which calls for Goya Sazon seasonings!. I am not sure where you are from!. If you are interested, feel free to email me and I will gladly forward it to you!. Good luck with the recipe ideas!.

You can use any 'cream of' soup in place of the mushroom, I do it all the time!.

Here are a couple tried but true crockpot recipes for me:

FRENCH DIP

3 lb beef roast
1 can condensed french onion soup
1 can ginger ale

Combine all in crockpot, heat on low all day!. Shred with fork and serve on rolls!. Use the juice for dipping!.

BBQ SANDWICHES (shortcut version)

3 lb pork roast or 4 chicken breasts
bottle of BBQ sauce

Combine all in crockpot, heat on low all day!. Shred with fork and serve on rolls!.

Good thinking about the crock pot!. Don't forget to have a night where all you have to do is heat up and eat up leftovers from 2-3 nights prior!. OH I SOOOOO LOVE MY CROCKPOT!! It is the best thing ever invented!. If you go to the seasonings aisle n the supermarket (where they sell gravy mix by the packet) you can usually find brands like McCormick that sell Crock Pot seasonings and they have all the ingredients needed on the back!. They are so simple to use, you throw the ingrediants into the pot cover with the seasonings mixed as instructed and let it go!. The Italian chicken one is out of the world, served over rice which you can make in microwave when you get home!.
Good LUCK!!!

also don't forget you can always use frozen stew veggies, etc!. fresh isn't necessary, just adjust the water a little to ensure there isn't too much when veggies thaw!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

First, yes cream of mushroom can be replaced by cream of what ever you have on hand or prefer!. You could even use plain old chicken gravy if you want!.

Here are a couple of super easy meals!. I am working an doing more and if you want I can send you more as I try them!.

This is the easiest recipe out there and is soooo good!.

Crock Pot Chicken Salsa Curry

10 chicken thighs-bone in
1 jar of your fav salsa
1/2 onion chopped
1 tablespoon curry (or about 1/2 if you don't like a strong curry taste)
1/2 cup sour cream

Place the chicken in the crock pot!. Mix the onion, curry and salsa!. Pour over the chicken and cook on low for about 6-8 hours!.

When the chicken is done take it out of the crock pot and put on a serving plate!. Add the sour cream and mix well!. Spoon the sauce over the chicken!.

This would go well with rice or cous cous!.

If you don't have crock pot you could also do this is a roasting pan or a casserole dish with a cover or tin foil(about 200) check it though since it may cook faster!. I have only done this once in the ovena dn I think I cooked it for 3-4 hours!. This recipe is easy to do smaller portions of as well!.

----------------------

You could add the onions raw in this recipe or saute them up with the garlic real quick and then dump everything in the crockpot, give it a quick stir!. Add meat balls or skinless bone in chicken thighs and cook all day!.

Spaghetti Sauce:

Everyone does theirs different but here is the general way I do mine!. Not exact as I just toss most everything in as I go and taste a lot and eye-ball it!.

1 can NSA stewed diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomatoe paste-sometimes
1 small onion chopped
1 good sized clove of garlic chopped
1 tbsp butter
chicken bbroth or 1 bullion cube
Italian seasoning
Basil
Oregano
Parsley
Dreid Chives
Pinch sugar
Pepper
Granulated Garlic
Onion powder
? tsp or less celery salt

Saute the onion and garlic until translucent and tender!. Add the tomatoes and remaining ingredients!. I like to simmer mine for at least 20-30 min!. Use over pasta with or with out meat!. In lasagna, chicken parmesan etc… You can also add a little more water and some chopped veggies and make a tomato veggie soup!.
--------------------

Beef and Bean Crock-pot Soup:

2 pounds hamburger
1 lg onion
1 green bell pepper (optional)
? pound chopped up kinda small

1 can (16 oz) butter beans
1 can (16 oz) kidney beans
1 can (16 oz) Pork and beans (or pinto beans)
1 can (16 oz) tomato sauce!.

? cup brown sugar
? cup white sugar
2 tbsp molasses
2 tsp vinegar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dry mustard

Brown the hamburger and bacon together!. Drain, and add the onion and bell pepper!. Pour into large crock pot and add all remaining ingredients!. Stir to combine and cook on low 3-4 hours!.

also sometimes items like boxed rice are good and so easy in a pinch!. Use the low sodium variety and then mix it with equal parts plain brown, white or wild rice!. Still only eat 1 recommended portion from the package!. This will still have a good flavor but at the same time drastically reduce your sodium intake of that product!.

Heavenly Harvest Pork Roast:

1/4 cup pomagranite juice
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp granulated garlic
1 tbsp steak seasoning
1 tsp black pepper
1 pork roast (4-5) pounds
2 pears, cored peeled and sliced thick
1/2 ornage peel on, sliced thick

Heat the pomagranite juice and sugar until the sugar is dissolved, pour into the bottom of the crock pot!.

Mix the salt, granulated garlic, steak seasoning, and pepper!. Rub all over pork, then lay the pork on top of the juice in the pan!. Turn once so that it is coverd in the juice!.

Cover the pork with the pears and oranges!. Cover and cook on high for 6-8 hours or until tender!. Serve with juice and fruit slices!.
