Baking a large cake and need help?!

Question: Baking a large cake and need help!?
I am baking an 11 x 15 cake this weekend, first time!. I have been reading that I should use 2 - 3 cake mixes!. I am concerned about the cake baking properly!. Won't the edges bake alot quicker than the center!? How do I avoid this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
When I bake a 1/2 sheet cake I use two mixes and bake at 325 for 35 40 minutes!. If you are worried about he edges you can make strips from an old towel, dampen them and wrap them around your cake pan!. This will also help make the cake more level!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The depth of the pan is key and you didn't say how deep yours is!. If it's the standard cake pan depth, about 2 to 3 inches and your oven heats evenly, it shouldn't take much longer than a regular sized cake!.

Make sure you preheat the oven completely and it should be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just make sure that you spray enough baking spray around the edges of the pan!. It will feep them from sticking and the edges getting really crispy!. also, make sure you put the cake in the dead center of the oven for even baking!.
Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Preheat oven@325, put cake in center rack, when cake has pulled away from the pan, stick a toothpick in center of cake and if it comes out clean the cake is done!. Set aside to cool before removing from pan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1 cake mix makes a 9x13 and 11x15 isn't that much bigger!. 2 cake mixes will do, same temp!., same time!. Test with a toothpick for doneness!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

just keep a eye on it Www@FoodAQ@Com
