Are you suppose to cook meat before putting it in a crock pot?!


Question: Are you suppose to cook meat before putting it in a crock pot!?
I am going to make this chicken crock pot dish!. Am I suppose to cook the chicken first and then put it in the crock pot with the other ingredients!. Or, will the crock pot cook it all the way!? It is suppose to cook for 6-8hrs!. I have never used a crock pot before, thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

it depends the dish your making!. if your making the chicken dish it should be ok!. ill make things like pulled pork in a crockpot!. i usually put the meat and barb sauce in the crockpot the night before and cook it like 8-12 hours and its ok!. but if your using the crockpot to pretty much keep something warm and not really cook it, like chili, you should cook the meat first!. All ingredient used in a crock pot are to go in raw!. Beef,chicken, fish, vegetables everything goes in raw and slow cooks over the hours it is in!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
