Can slow cooked, well done onions still make your stomach upset?!

Question: Can slow cooked, well done onions still make your stomach upset!?
I'm making dinner for a friend who usually doesn't eat onions because it gives him gas!. The onions I'm making are part of a sauce and they'll be cooked (almost caremalized) for about an hour before going into the sauce!. Does the cooking duration make a difference with the affect of onions!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Longer cooking does help, but onions are still a problem for many people, no matter what!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Onions are onions!. I have a sensitive stomach and it doesn't matter how I eat them I still have issues!. Now I have always been told that if you make bean soup to put a potato in it that will help with the gas issues!. Maybe after you place the onions in the sauce you could try a potato and see if it helps!. Otherwise is it really that important for the onions!? Maybe this one time you could try it without!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is still a possibility that it will upset your friend's stomach!. Why would you invite someone to dinner and make them something you know that they do not like!? Just wondering!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
