I want to make a round 2 layer cake but I only have 1 round pan?!

Question: I want to make a round 2 layer cake but I only have 1 round pan!?
The recipe calls for 2 round pans!. So I was wondering if I make the entire cake batter, then bake one layer, let it cool and use the leftover batter again in the same pan once the 1st layer is cooled, will it still work!? Or will the batter be no good!? Does the batter need to be baked as soon as its mixed!? Or is it going to be ok if I put the batter in the fridge and bake it later!? This is for a special occasion so I cannot F this up!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It will probably be okay as long as it is refrigerated!. The only thing I would do when preparing to use the second batch is to mix it again very well!. When batter sits, it can lose the air that you have beaten into it previously, this can often result in a much denser version of the cake and if you have one layer that is light and fluffy, and another that is heavy and dense, it might not be great!. You can make the first layer!. Let it cool completely before removing it from the pan!. The batter will still be fine if you cook the second layer after you are able to remove the first one from the pan!. It is also easier to frost the cake if you put them in the freezer for a couple hours before doing it!. This will keep the cake from crumbling when you spread the frosting on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can do this, just be sure you remember to let the pan cool and then flour and grease the pan again so the cake will not stick!. While the second cake is baking you can let the first one cool completely and get everything ready to frost the cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i would bake one cake put the rest of the batter in the fridge bout 10 minutes before the first cake is done get the batter out of the fridge and get to room temp, the do the second cake!.!.hope this helpedWww@FoodAQ@Com

You can definitely do this!. Just make sure to reapply a spray like Pam on the pan you're reusing and lightly mix the second batter before pouring it in and putting it in the oven!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The batter will last!. Just bake one at a time!. After you take the first one out, clean the pan and you're ready to bake the next one!. :) Www@FoodAQ@Com

make one cake at a time and put the first one on the plate why you are awaiting for the second cake to cook and there you have your 2 layer cakeWww@FoodAQ@Com

You can do it that wayWww@FoodAQ@Com
