How to blend sugar - my icing is too grainy!!!!?!
Help! I've just made a carrot cake and the icing to go on top!. My icing contained demerara sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract!. I blended them all together and the icing tastes amazing but the sugar grains are too small for the blender to catch and so my icing is of a syrup-like condensity, but the sugar grains still remain throughout and don't blend no matter how long I stick at it - what can I do!?!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
yes, powdered sugar is the way to go if you don't want it grainyWww@FoodAQ@Com
Hmmm demerara sugar is known for crunchy big grains!. I've never seen a cream cheese icing recipe that didn't use confectioners sugar!.
I don't know what you can do to smooth out the grains!. A food processor maybe!? You might have to re- make your icing with powdered sugar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Blender!?!?!?!? Who makes frosting in a blender!? You should be using an electric stand mixer for cream cheese frosting!. Glazes can be done with a wire whisk, but the cream cheese is too thick for that!.!.!.!.!.and, as the others said, frostings are made with powdered/confectioner's sugarWww@FoodAQ@Com
