Check the stems first for signs of softness!. As for "mold", mushrooms are a fungus hello!. Firmness in the caps as well is an excellent sign of freshness!. Smell them and they should have a scent faintly of soil, Be sure to wipe them clean with a damp cloth and not soak them in water!. Mushrooms are mostly water and if you soak them before cooking they will never get a nice sear in a pan!. Good Luck! Www@FoodAQ@Com

They should still be good to eat if you use them within the next 2 days or so!. Fresh mushrooms should be dry and firm, so if they are slimy and soft then throw them out!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If they haven't gotten soft and/or slimy, they will be okay!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are probably OK if they taste good, look good, and have no mold of course!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
