Is chicken soup a good diet food?!

Question: Is chicken soup a good diet food!?
I crave chicken soup , homemade from my own stock!.!.!.
it's the ultimate comfort food!.
but is it good for a diet!? The soup I eat is chock full of veggies and not cream based [like root veg soups] , so my questions are these:
how much of the nurtrition from the vegetables remain after being boiled for so long [they're boiled in with the stock], and how is it that something so decadent tasting be so good for you!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Whenever you boil or steam vegetables, you lose vitamins and minerals into the water!. HOWEVER!.!.!.with a soup, you are eating that water (or stock!.!.!.whatever you boil them in) and so technically you get all of the required vitamins and minerals as you would eating just raw vegetables!.

you only really lose significant nutritional content if you boil them in water and then toss out the water!. As long as you use boil/steam them in a liquid and then later add them TO that liquid, they would have basically the same nutritional content!. Minerals/vitamins don't just evaporate into the air, they leave the vegetables through osmosis into the water!. So if you USE that waste water in more cooking, you would retain the minerals and vitamins with it!.

So for soups, since you boil the veggies WITH the stock, the vitamins will just go into the stock, and as long as you eat the stock you are fine!.

Soups are actually pretty healthy, just make sure to watch the sodium content, since sometimes soups require a LOT of salt to flavor, so instead of flavoring with salt, use herbs and spices such as basil, bay leaves, pepper, rosmary, thyme, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The longer you cook veggies, the less nutritional value that they have!. So try to cook them only until they are tender!.
And since you don't add a lot of fattening products to the soup like butter or cream, it makes it a wonderful food for a diet because soups digest well in the body because it's easy for our system to break it down!.
Chicken soup is good for people who are sick so it must be okay if you are on a diet!.

I think this website will also be helpful in learning some of the facts about chicken soup!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm no nutritionist, but anytime you boil veggies the vitamins and minerals are released into the cooking liquid!. So if you are eating the broth too you are still getting those nutrients!. And as long as you skimmed off most of the fat from the stock it should be pretty low fat as well!. I say throw in some No Yolk Egg noodles and have a bowl of soup! Little else is better tasting than good soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its really good for you as long as you dont add any extra soduim!.!.!.the veggies are great and the chicken is great, is good you are using natural stock over store bought!.!.!.lot less sodium that way!. the nutrient value does lessen being cooked down but its still veggies and still good for you!. perhaps along with having this, make a small salad on the side to have some fresh veggies too!. Well when you have veggies in it and they are the healthy kind, and the borth is low fat, or something like that i could say yes, didn't our mom used to give us chicken noodle soup to get us better when we were sick!.!.!.!? :)

excellent food for dieting!. Here are tips: Don't cook the veggies until they are mush!.!.!.!.don't add any extra salt and after you make the soup and let it cool down!.!.!.put it overnight in the refrigerator!. In the morning skim the fat off the top!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it doesn't contain much salt, then it is good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
