Question: I'm making chicken & dumplings & it turned out soupy is there a way to save it!?
Can I add something to make it thicker!? Or should I just feed it to the dog!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree w/ Chad !.!.!.mix COLD water with a few tablespoons of cornstarch!. Bring your dumplings up to a boil, and slowly poor the mixture into your dumplings, stirring constantly!. Boil until the desired thickness!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No take some of your stock that you have perhaps a cup of it and add flour or corn starch to it (perhaps 1 tablespoon) see if that will thicken it!. Add more if necessary!. A potato will thicken it also!. Do you have enough dumplings!? What kind of dumplings are you using!? If not homemade; then try using can biscuits!. Cut each biscuit into 1/4s, then roll and drop in hot liquid!. Add these dumplings about 15 minutes before you turn off the heat!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Take about 1/2 c!. of the hot liquid out and whisk in 1 TB of flour or cornstarch until it's smooth !.!.!. then whisk that back into the pot!. If you just add the flour or cornstarch to the whole pot, it will create lumpsWww@FoodAQ@Com

Take some of the hot broth and mix it with either some cornstarch or flour!. Stir to break up any lumps!. Don't throw it away!. You can also use the ingrediants in a pot pie if nothing else!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

make a slurry!. add 1 tbsp corn starch to some water!. stir to dissolve and add to broth!. simmer for 10 minutes or until it thickens!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've heard that corn starch works, though I have never tried it!.

I would add a can of cream of chicken soup!.!.!.It will enhance the flavor and make it thicker!.!.!. good luck!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
