How long can milk last for cooking after expiration date?!

Question: How long can milk last for cooking after expiration date!?
You know if I wanted to mix some milk with eggs for a mixture how long after the expiration date would that be acceptable!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Most milk will last a few days beyond the expiration date!. Just open the jug and smell the milk!. That will tell you real fast if the milk is still good!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It would be the same as when you would drink it!. Although you are using it for cooking, you are not heating it to such a high temperature that all the bacteria would die!. Pasteurization already kills the bacteria which allows for an extended expiration date, so using it after about 2 days can be harmful!.

Just before you use it, smell it and if it smells foul then i recommend not to use it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Until it smells "off"/sour!. Depends on how cold your refrigerator is!. I have had milk last close to a week after the date, and I have had it expire BEFORE the date a couple of times!. It seems to make a lot of difference how fast you can get it home and into cold, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it smells sour or has curdles in it, toss it!. I wouldn't drink it past 1 day AFTER the expiration date!. But then again, expired milk doesn't exist in my household!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Milk is good for 7 days after it is opened and can usually last 2-3 past the expiration!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

milk rule when it

expires tip it out
