Cooked Chicken gone grey on the outside?!

Question: Cooked Chicken gone grey on the outside!?
Just cooked my 1st chicken (very small little guy, Tesco special (£1!.99))!. cooked for ~1hr and he was done!.
Totally skinned it first!.
also marinated in white wine/water/oil/herbs (oregano/rosemary/sage) for 24 hours prior to cooking!.
The expiration date was today, and I cooked it today!. (Has been in fridge for 2-3 days, bought fresh)!.
I'm not sure --could it have been that the white wine fermented on it!? Anyway a lot of outside parts which had contact with the wine/oil/herbs have a grayish hue to them!.
Any ideas!?
I hope I didn't eat bad chicken!. To me it smelled pretty gross when skinning it, but I've never handled chickens before so!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Did you cook it in something aluminum!? That'll do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How did you cook it!? roast, bbq, fry, etc!.!.!. But if meat smells bad to you, return it!. Raw meat should not smell bad!. Just like raw meat, not a bad smell!. Anyway even if it was bad, if it was fully cooked, no harm done if you did not get sick! Wine is already fermented grapes, so it has nothing to do with that!. I have left chicken marinating for 2 days or more! Maybe it was the sage, was it ground sage!? By the way, how did it taste!?!Www@FoodAQ@Com
