If you make it to Executive Chef of a world class restaurant in a major city, your salary would be much much more than 50k!. If the restaurant was as good as you said, your salary would be closer to 100-200k!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think it is important to note that there aren't many 5 star places out there, and actually Michelin Stars (which are the only ones worth a damn) only go up to 3, and is very very hard to get!. Chefs of this caliber dont make all their money from working the kitchen, they do a lot of consulting, do special openings for restaurants, and get a kind of corporate chef status where they will work more than one place at a time!. So it pays better to be in a large organisation that is lower rated (like hotel chain) than in a 3 Michelin Star place with one owner who has only the one restaurant!. It will be your dedication to the craft that drives you, not the money!. Much like a Green Beret!. You could be high up on the chain making big money, or down in the dirty dirty doing the real art!. $50,000 to $100,000 Depends upon whose your Employer, or Self-Employed, I say Going into Business for Yourself fits better then working for someone else, I say to You Have Kitchen Utensils like Knives, Whisks, Spoons, and Spatulas, Wearing a Uniform like a Double Breasted Chef Jacket, Chef Pants, Chef Hat, and Slip Resistant Shoes Then you can take Pride of Being a Chef Regardless of Where you are or How Much Money you Make, You have to have the Passion for Cooking before you work as a Chef!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
$50k plus and goes way up as you become more experienced and creative
it is a great job once you get well known esp if you love foods and experiences
Great Career Choice in my opinion except you have to stand a lot and wear horribly outfits but it would be awesome once you were past the beginning stage because you are always growing in learning new things Www@FoodAQ@Com
