Yes, according to my recipe too - you just add the sauerkraut in layers!.

EASY REUBEN SANDWICHES

Ingredients:

* rye bread
* mayonnaise or Thousand Island dressing
* corned beef
* sauerkraut
* Swiss cheese

Preparation:

Spread 2 slices of rye bread lightly with mayonnaise or Thousand Island dressing!. Put a layer of sauerkraut over one slice, then top with a slice of corned beef then a slice of Swiss cheese!. Top with the second slice, mayonnaise side down!. Butter outside of reuben sandwich lightly with soft butter or margarine and toast on a griddle or grill, turning to brown evenly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The bigger the skillet you have to work with the better, or use 2 skillets or a griddle!.

Toast the bread and lay one slice of swiss or provolone cheese down, add a little 1,000 island!. Meanwhile heat the meat on kraut on the griddle, melt another add a dallop of 1,000 and add anothe slcie of cheese!. Put the meat on the slice of bread with 1,000 and cheese, then add the kraut with with 1,000 and cheese, top with 2nd slice of bread and once it's all toasty, put on a cutting board and slice!!!

Mmmmmmm sounds good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I hate this stuff!. The best for processed saurkraut is probably to get the kind in the bag in the refrigerated section if you can!.

Heat it through (mic!?) straight from the pouch with its liquid!. Then drain and add to the sandwich, and then cook the sandwich!.

PS I like Reubens without saurkraut!. I maybe should try it again, I have enjoyed a few things that I hated as a kid!. My latest food fad is bleu cheese dressing!.!.!.which used to turn my stomach!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you bought the standard plastic bag or can of sauerkraut, just warm it up in a pot!. Make sure you let most of the liquid drain out of the amounts you are going to use for your reubens!. Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always rinse my sauerkraut in water and drain it first, so that it won't be so sour!. Then grill it in a skillet or griddle!. You've got the rest under control!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I PUT IT IN THE MICROWAVE IN A COVERED OVEN SAFE DISH WITH 1/2 CAN WATER FOR 7 MINUTES, TO COOK IT, OTHERWISE , IT IS TOO CRUNCHY!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always drain first, nuke it for a few seconds, depending on how much I am going to use and then use food tongs or a pair of spoons to squeeze out any remaining liquid!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Warm it up in a pot, Then use a fork to spear some, dab on a paper towel, then top your sandwich with the forkful!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i heat mine in the microwave and add a little sugar to take the out a little of the tart outWww@FoodAQ@Com

I've always warmed the kraut first, and drain it very well or you'll have soggy reubens!. Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I just plop my sauerkraut on right out of the can/pouch!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I grill it on george foreman!.!.
try adding blue cheese instead of 1,000 isld!.!.its so yummy that way!Www@FoodAQ@Com
