Do I have to brown my pork chops before I put them in the crock pot?!

Question: Do I have to brown my pork chops before I put them in the crock pot!?
Answers:
You do not have to brown them
But if you do it will help to seal in the juices while they cook!.
I prefer my vegetables to be more crunchy so I actually put carrots and celery in about 45 minutes to one hour before the meat is done and I put the onions in about 30 minutes before the meat is doneWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes! But you will get a better flavor if browned before putting into the pot!. Your onions should also be browned, slowly, before being put into the pot and, as you think, added just before serving!. I would suggest that you boil some potatoes and make a gravy from the pan after browning the chops!. Add a side dish of corn or peas or green beans and you will have a great meal!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

While it's not a requirement, it is beneficial as we eat with our eyes too!. Pale pork is unappealing-at least to me!.To solve my onion texture problem I take a stick blender to them!.All the flavor with none of the usual problems of trying to satisfy everyone's individual taste!.You might even consider caramelizing the onions in a pan first and then adding them!. More flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you brown the chops first it makes a nice gravey, but I don't brown first I just add a pack of that cheap gravey mix to it bout halfway through the cooking time!.I put onions in about an hour before time is up at medium heat, man this sounds very nice!,enjoy!,thank youWww@FoodAQ@Com

Browning caramelizes the meat, giving it better flavor!. Add a bit of water to the skillet afterwards and add that to your crock, scraping the skillet to get as much caramelized meat as you can!. If you like crisp onions that is about when you should add them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do because I think it gives the chops and the rest of the meal more flavor!.
I always put the things that turn soft quickly in the last 3rd or so of the time!. Onions, celery, carrots etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You don't HAVE to brown them, but it provides more flavor as well as keeping them nice and juicy (that browning "locks" in the moisture)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
