Ideas of what to do with lentils and beans?!
So, I don't want them together, but today, I went grocery shopping and got a smaller bag of lentils, 16 bean mix, and I have pinto beans, so what are some things I can do with all of these beans and such!? I"m a vegetarian by the way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Lentil soup:
http://www!.recipezaar!.com/97004- I usually substitute veggie broth for the chicken stock and add some veggie bouillion granules to add a little more flavor
I usually use pinto beans smashed and add in some onion, garlic, cumin and chili powder!. Theyare great this way for tacos, nacjos, burritos, etc!. You can also use pinto beans in chili!. Just add some tomatoes, onion, chili powder, cumin, green bell pepper, black pepper and onion powder!. Simmer for a while to let the flavors blend!. Serve with corn bread, on top of pasta or french fries or with totilla chipsWww@FoodAQ@Com

* lentil soup: very good with bread on the side and a green salad
* lentil salad (delicious especially in warmer weather)
the pinto beans
* great in burritos: use olive oil and cilantro to garnish
* make a dip, serve with toasted pita chips

For the 16 bean soup:
Put it into a gallon of water and bring to a boil!. Let sit for an hour!. In a sauce pan cook 1/4 head of celery, 1 pound carrots, two cloves garlic and a large onion until tender!. Add into beans and bring to a simmer for about half an hour or until done!. I season with Worcestershire sauce(not strict vegetarian) soy and garlic!. S&P to taste!.
It will be a little thin at first but it always thickens when it cools down!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make a hearty soup for starters and then with some left overs you could drain the liquid and use whats left to make a burrito type roll up or use cabbage leafs and stuff them and make a sort of stuffed cabbage!?
