"Something suitable for a diabetic" is nearly meaningless!. Is this hypothetical diabetic on insulin or not!? That would make a huge difference -- insulin amounts can be varied to cover the amount of carbs in a meal, but for someone not on insulin, the options are much more limited!. What is this diabetic's pre-meal blood glucose level!? That would have an impact, too!. How does this particular diabetic respond to various types and amounts of carbs!? How much exercise does this hypothetical diabetic plan to do after eating!? All of these issues are very significant and they all vary quite a lot from person to person -- especially with Type 2 diabetics, who are all in different stages of a progressive disease!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Diabetics need to restrict sugar and carb intake (carbs raise blood sugar)!.!.!.!.!.
Green salad with sugar-free dressing (Ranch or Caesar is good)
Any meat is fine, but how about grilled chicken and steamed carrots!. Then you could serve shelled edaname as the starch!.!.!.!.!. Or meatloaf and mashed cauliflower (instead of mashed potatoes) with steamed green beans
Any cake or cookies can be made by substituting sugar with Splenda!.!.!.!.or you buy store-bought sugar-free pies & cakes !.!.!.!.!.so, sugar-free Angel Food cake with sugar-free Cool Whip and sliced strawberries
(Not sure why the poster above has all the low-fat, low-calorie and low-sodium items!. That has nothing to do with a diabetic meal plan)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would fix:
Tossed Green Salad with diatetic dressing
Grilled Chicken Breasts
Steamed Vegetables with toasted bread crumbs
and for dessert a sugarfree ice cream
You can buy the chicken breasts that are flavored - hickory smoke etc and just heat in oven or on stove top!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
