You are right sodium is needed by the body!. It is an electrolyte!. Some chicken breasts have a lot of sodium in them (ranging aywhere from 40-140 mg per 4 oz serving), turkey, sausage!.

Cheese, milk, cottage cheese!.

Bread's, canned or ready made meal type dishes, canned veggies!.

Most strore bought broths or bullions are loaded with sodium!. Although the low sodium version should be used!.

It is a needed thing in our bodies but cardiologists reccomend 2,000-2,500 mg per day Max!. It's only about 2 tsp worth, so you dodn;t want to eat a lot of foods just loaded with sodium!.

Sodium is not a nutrient to my knowledge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is an interesting question!. The first answer that popped into my head was "Movie popcorn!" which of course is not the type of answer you are looking for!.

A good topic to look into that would relate very well to your question is something that has become a problem in recent years: athletes in training camps who have actually died because their levels of sodium, potassium, and other electrolytes became too low!. (After some athletes had died of dehydration during strenuous workouts, some coaches and trainers have recently begun insisting that their athletes drink large quantities of water while working out!. This has led to the opposite problem: too much water without replacing the nutrients lost while sweating, so that their levels of sodium become lethally low!.)

In that vein, then, a "food" like Gatorade might be something to add to your list, as it was designed specifically to replenish the necessary levels of sodium lost while exercising!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
