I'm from england and its actually quite a popular dish!. Its unfortunate you haven't tried it!.
A peach cobbler is a bit like our apple crumble, except instead of crumble, the topping can vary from a dough-like crust to a biscuit-like one; dolloped on top to make a sort of cobbled effect!. Served with cream, not custard!. I like to put a little mascarpone on top of my peaches, it adds a nice creamy flavour!.
Here's a basic recipe!.

Substitute the canned peaches for your own: Cut the peaches up, and soften in a pan with a little sugar and water over a medium heat!.
Its in english measurements which may help too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know what a peach cobbler is, but you could make a peach crisp :3 Imma go get the recipe and then type it up!.
Alright - this is technically an apricot crisp, but peach and apricot are interchangeable!.
You need: 4 cups fresh peaches, cut in thin slices and chunks
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup whole weat flower
3/4 cup rolled oats
3/4 tsp!. ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp!. ground nutmeg (i usually leave this out)
1/3 cup margarine
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees (farenheit!. not sure, but you have celcius, right!? Then you'd have to convert it)!. Place fruit in 8-inch square baking pan!. Blend remaining ingredients with pastry knife!. Spread mixture over fruit evenly!. Bake about 30 minutes or until knife cuts fruit easily!. Serve warm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is an easy recipe using canned peaches but fresh could be used instead
Another easy way of making a cobbler is just to put a cake batter over the top - either make it from scratch or use a vanilla or buttercake cake mix
Serve with custard or cream Www@FoodAQ@Com

basicly any fruit mixture that is baked into a casserole dish, topped with strips or pieces of raw pie crust (bottom is optional ( though the best cobblers have bottoms in my opinion) and baked slowly releasing lots of juice!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
