What can I have for tea that's tasty on a budget?!

Question: What can I have for tea that's tasty on a budget!?
I'm skint - blame the credit crunch - but I have the house to myself and never cook anything decent so I'd like to treat myself tonight!.

What can I make that's tasty, not too fussy, doesn't take too long and is cheap!?

I like everything apart from fish :)

Thanks!!

"I make this family favorite at least two or three times a month," remarks Jackie Messina of Chardon, Ohio!. "It's wonderful with a salad and fresh Italian bread!." Besides being easy to prepare, this meatless main dish is easy on the pocketbook at just 61 cents per serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you have any type of pasta=farfelle (bowtie) or thin or regular spaghetti, or penne, boil up a couple of cups in fresh boiling water that's had a Tb of salt added to it!. While it's boiling, chop up fresh garlic-as much as you want-I like 4-5 cloves sliced thin!. Pour a 2 TBs of Extra Virgin Olive oil, or best you have, into a saute pan and saute the garlic on medium heat till it becomes fragrant!. Don't turn heat up too hi as garlic will brown and burn!. WOn't taste good!. Drain pasta, pour into a serving bowl and then pour sauted garlic and oil over pasta!. With tongs or two forks toss lightly till you've coated all the pasta!. Eat!. Yum!. Oh yes, add fresh cracked pepper and 1/4-1/2 tsp salt or to taste to pasta!. I use Koshersalt for the extra bling it gives to my taste buds!.

That's your base!. To this add whatever you like-fresh or frozen peas cooked till hot and tossed in!. Fresh chopped basil is delish in this-3-4 leaves sliced thin!. A good handful of parsley chopped is good!. Fresh tomatoes-if u have any cherry or grape tomatoes wash and dry then toss into garlic and saute till skin wrinkles!.

Toast some good bread, or hamburger buns etc and butter and add garlic salt to it!.Toss a fresh salad to go with it!.
Simple, good food!. Cheap, yummy!. Easy to do!. Not much clean up!. Hope this has been some help to someone:-)

Pork chop in mushroom gravy

Pork loin chop (2) boneless (why pay for bones!?)
1 can of cream of mushroom
Garlic powder
Pepper
White rice

In a small casserole dish spread half of the can of mushroom in the bottom, place porkchops in dish, season, spread the remaining soup over meat!. Cover and bake for 30-40 minutes at 325 degrees!.

If you are using non-minute rice, start your rice now too!. (you can buy a 5 pound bag of long grain rice for the price of a small box of minute rice)When chops are not pink in center they are done!. Spoon out rice onto plate with chop!. Top with the gravy left behind!. Yum!! Make a salad and you have an easy, yet comforting meal!.

Another good thing to have on hand is the Ziplock steam bags!. I use these weekly! Chop up a boneless chicken breast into bite sized pieces ,season with garlic, seasoned salt, parsley!. Place in bag and cook for 6-8 minutes in the microwave!. (Check to ensure they are done!.) Place in a mixing bowl!. Just give the bag a quick rinse and add some frozen veggies with some additional seasoning!. Cook for 6-8 minutes!. Toss in with chicken, sprinkle with your choice of cheese and voila! It is healthy and quick!. If you have any leftover rice or pasta, mix that in as well!

Eating a salad is inexpensive, healthy and helps fill you up!. We eat a salad every night with our meal!. Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com
