how do you cook pumpkin seeds!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
I don't fry them!. I wash and dry them and then spread them on a cookie sheet, sprinkle with salt, seasoning salt or other flavoured spices and then bake in the oven at about 350 until they are browned!. The crunchier you want them, the longer you bake them, just be careful they don't burn!. Some people like to cook them in oil, but that just makes them fattening!. If you want to do it that way, shake your washed and dried seeds in a plastic bag with some cooking oil, then lay on a cookie sheet as above, season and bake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If by frying you mean in a pan, I just melt a little butter in the pan or use butter-flavored Pam and coat the bottom and fry it that way!. I have heard of roasting in the oven but it's not frying!. I have also heard of coating them the same way you would okra and deep-frying them in a pot or fryer!. That's the way to do it in the South!. ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com
I clean and drain them and let them sit in a colander for at least an hour (while we carve) then just throw them on a cookie sheet, spritz with olive oil and season!. I just use season-all!. stir them around to get them all coated and seasoned, and bake at 250 for about 45 mins or till they're crispy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
