When boiling a whole chicken, (about 2 lb) ?!

Question: When boiling a whole chicken, (about 2 lb) !?
does it matter if you cut it up before boiling, or can you just stick the whole chicken in the pot and boil it!? (Which is best)!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Either way!. The whole chicken will take longer to cook but both ways work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are going to have to cut it in order to eat it sooner or later so why not cut it up first and then put the pieces in the pot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can put the entire thing in the pot!. Especially if you are going to use it for some type of soup or casserole, if it fits, no sense wasting time cutting it up:-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Either way works just fine!. It's really only a question of how much time do you have to cook it!. It will cook much faster if it is cut into pieces!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

throw whole chicken in!. i do it all the time when making soup
save cooking liquid!.!.!.let cool then skim top stuff off and you have a soup broth baseWww@FoodAQ@Com

I always just put in the whole chicken!. No sense in wasting time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think cutting it up would allow it to cook more evenly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
