Difficulty opening a jar?!

Question: Difficulty opening a jar!?
I'm having difficulty opening a new jar of pasta sauce!. I've tried running it under hot water, using a towel, and my bottle opener won't fit around the lid!. Any suggestions!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The only other way I know of undoing them is to combine both the hot water, and the tapping method as described!.

I would suggest you spend a few dollars on a jar opener that will open a large variety of sizes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tap the edge of the jar with the wooden handle of a steak knife (wrap the blade in a towel for safety), the wood will ensure you don't break the glass unless you use excessive force!.

Tap a few times all the way around!. Keep trying!.

also take care to notice if the tomato sauce splatters out of the jar when you open it, if so the difficulty is probably due to added pressure from some kind of contamination and spoilage!. DO NOT EAT THE SAUCE in that case!.

Use a butter knife, the flat edge and tap it in about 4 different spots!. You want to see the indentations!.

It should come of very easily then!. Please don't use a big knife, I've never had the glass shatter using a buuter knife!. If you break the glass then you hit it WAYYYYYYYY to heard!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try turning it upside down with the lid on the bottom, and rap it on the the counter!.I have done this with good results!.Don't hit it to hard!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

tap the edge of the jars lid against the corner of the counter top in a few different spots around the lid, thats all i got

Take a spoon and wedge it between the lid and jar!. Push up and there you go!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

easy!.!.!.!.just use a sharp knife and stab the lid of the jar so it makes a tiny hole - it will come off straight away !Www@FoodAQ@Com

wrap a large rubber band around the lid this will help you gripWww@FoodAQ@Com
