I love the following recipe because it doesn't call for a lot of ingredients - buy from the bulk food bins for the extras :-)
Title: Cookies Your Way (and Quick & Easy too!)
Description:
A very simple recipe for cookies that doesn't require a lot of ingredients or preparation!.
I only found it because I was wanting to make cookies last night, but didn't have any baking soda!. I couldn't find a single chocolate chip cookie recipe that would allow me to make cookies without using backing soda!.
So I went digging through my cupboards, hoping to find something sweet to make!. In the back of the top cupboard I found a box of cake mix!. Unfortunately, the frosting had been used to make graham-cracker cookies awhile back!.
Curious as to what I might be able to make with a box of cake mix, I went to my recipe program on the computer, punched in cake mix as an ingredient, and found a bunch of recipes for cookies!.
The one I'm posting here is, I think, the most adaptable of the recipes I found!. I hope that you enjoy!.
This recipe is a Betty Crocker (from Betty Crocker's Best of Baking) recipe, with a few suggestions of my own added in!.
Ingredients:
~ NECESSARY ~
~ 1 package of cake mix (* see note)

* Use a versatile cake mix that allows you to add ingredients of your choice to create a unique cake!. Don't use a cake mix with pudding in it!. Use one or more of the ingredients listed as "optional"!.
** I was just curious as to how applesauce instead of oil would work in this recipe!. I would have tried it last night, but I could find a conversion of oil to applesauce!. [^]
All items with [^] appearing at the end were not in the original recipe, but were ideas I had on what else can be done with the recipe!.
Directions:
~ Preheat the oven to 350°!.
~ Combine the cake mix, eggs, and oil!.
~ Mix well, then add the optional ingredients and blend in!.
~ Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet!.

This is my favorite easy and inexpensive cookie recipe!. One batch usually makes about 5 dozen small cookies!. Double or triple it easily for a big bake sale!. You can even add chopped up walnuts to the recipe for more of a brownie type cookie!.
Package the cookies in bags of 5 or 6 and sell them for $1-2 a bag!. You'll cover your costs and make a great profit!
Best Chocolate Cookies
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
INGREDIENTS
1 12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 stick butter or margarine
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
OR use 1 cup self rising flour and omit the baking powder
In microwave on 50%power melt chocolate chips and butter or margarine for 2 minutes, stopping to stir it every 30 seconds or so to be sure the chocolate isnt burning!.
Remove from microwave and add sweetened condensed milk!. Mix it well then add the flour and baking powder (or just the self rising flour if thats what you're using)
Stir until well incorporated and let sit for about 10 minutes to fully absorb flour!.
Roll into walnut sized balls and drop onto ungreased or lightly greased cookie sheet!. Bake on bottom rack at 350 degrees for 6 minutes!.
If cookies are still too 'mushy' bake on upper rack for 1-2 minutes but no longer than that!
Allow to cool on a rack or plate!. Cookie will be very chewy and fudgy tasting!.
