Answers:
Use your broiler!. Your oven should have one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

***Yes you can cook it in the oven but it is better to broil it, are you able to use your broiler in your oven!?
If so the oven needs to be at 500 or broil setting, the meat has to be close to the top, and the time depends on how well done you want to meet and the thickness, and don't forget to keep the oven door cracked a little to let the excess heat outWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hi! First I have to tell you that my Grand Daughter's name is Savannah & she's the love of my life!.!.!.LOL!.!.!.just had to add that!. Anyway, you can always broil your steak!. But of course make sure you use a broiler pan (that has holes to let the drippings fall thru to the pan below, most stoves come with one) anyway, season it the way you like it,I like season salt & garlic powder & some times a good "steak or beef seasoning) & out your oven to broil & put your steak on the "near the top" rack & broil it for about 5-6 mins!. on each side!. The idea of the peppers & onions is great too!. I like to saute peppers, onions & mushrooms in olive oil & wine with some seasonings on them & have them on the side or over the top of my steak!. Good luck,Savannah!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it is a good, thick cut of meat (like ny strip, ribeye, filet) then coat it in some vegetable or canola oil, sprinkle with some salt and pepper and maybe some dried herbs (parsley, basil, oregano)!.
Put it on a flat pan (or broiler pan if you have one) and turn your oven's broiler feature on high!.
Put it under the broiler (about 4-5" away from the broiler) for 5 mins on one side and 4-5 on the other!.

Let REST before cutting, about 8-10 mins!.

If your steak is not that thick, then do 3-4 mins on each side!.
If it is very thick, do 6 mins on each side!.

If you have a lesser cut of meat (london broil, bottom round) then fork it about 25 times, then do above + coat it with some A1 steak sauce!.

Same as above!.

Don't forget to let rest for a while before cutting!.

***Above times are for MEDIUM steak!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
