Am I preserving any of the health qualities of chicken when I stew it?!

Question: Am I preserving any of the health qualities of chicken when I stew it!?
For my year old son, I sometimes make stews and whatnot ahead of time and warm it up for him later!. I know that frying chicken takes away some of the protein and nutrients, will stewing do the same thing!? And are the nutritional value of the vegetables lost in the stewing process as well!? Are there any healthy stew recipes that would be good for a child that's a year old!? There are no allergies or anything to speak of!. Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Probably!. At least you aren't doing any harm when you cook food!. Cooking actually makes food easier to digest and can make nutrients easier to obtain from the food!. Some foods, especially foods like beans & grains are indigestible unless cooked!. You also get more nutrition out of other foods when they are cooked!.

Think of cooking as pre-digestion!. Humans have been doing it for at least a million years to some extent!.

For a young child, you want to make sure the food is very soft and easy to swallow!. Stewed food is usually better for a 1 year old than raw food!.

Unless you are charring the food to a cinder, your food will be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
