Answers:
If you like medium rare steak, like me!, don't broil it for more than 5 mins on each side (not 7! like the other person said)!.
First, brush or coat it with some canola or vegetable oil!. Season with salt, pepper, and dried herbs (dried basil, oregano, parsley)!.
Put on a flat baking pan or broiler plate and turn your broiler to HIGH!.
Put in your oven, under the broiler (about 5" away from the heating element), 5 mins per side!.
LET REST for 8 mins after cooking!.
If I were you, I'd do 4 mins one side, and 5 mins the other side, but I like rare! 5 mins each side for medium rare!.
No need to sear first, unless you want to!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

broil steaks for no longer than 5-7 minutes per side!.
They will appear rare, but they seem to cook after being out of the oven for a few minutes!.
My broiler is on the upper part of my oven, so, I keep my steaks on a low rack!.
They burn to easy if they are too close to the broiler flameWww@FoodAQ@Com
