Try this recipe for lentil and vegetable soup -
Ingredients

* 50g butter
* 1 onion, chopped
* 1 leek, trimmed and roughly chopped
* 1 baking potato, peeled and diced
* 1 turnip, peeled and diced
* 150g carrots, diced
* 2tsp mixed dried herbs
* 3tbsp tomato purée
* 800ml hot vegetable stock
* 400g can Asda Green
* Lentils, drained
* crusty bread, to serve

Method
1 Melt the butter in a large pan, add the onion, leek and potato and stir until coated!. Cover and cook over a low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently!.

2 Add the turnip, carrots, herbs, tomato purée and stock!. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes!.

3 Remove about a quarter of the vegetables with a little of the stock and purée in a blender or processor!. Return to the pan, add the lentils and season to taste!. Reheat and serve with crusty bread!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just about anything really!
Make sure you soak them according to instructions then add them to carrots, potatoes & chicken in chicken stock and simmer it all slowly over a low heat!.
Or for a pure veggie soup try adding turnips & leeks instead of chicken!.

Well!.!.!.onions and garlic in a pan with a little olive oil!.!.cook until just soft!.!.then add meat if you like it!.!.any will do chopped up very small!.!.!.or dont!.!.!.add carrots, leeks, a pint of vegeatble stock and simmer!.!.!.add some mixed herbs and simmer for an hour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes you can add to make a thick soup!.I soak them overnight in water with a stock cube in and then add to soup to cook,they make soup a little thicker and I enjoy the taste of them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Never had mixed lentils b4, only mixed legumes!. WhenI make Whole green lentils I add potatoes!. Yum!. Use your intuition, you will cook up a storm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
