The best way to cook a pork roast is in a smoker with hickory chips!. If you're really wanting an apple flavor marinate it in apple juice for a few hours or use a flavor injector to inject it into the meat!. As for the apples you could make some kind of apple salsa or chutney to serve over the pork!. You may want to core some of them, put some butter and some Cinnamon sugar in and on them, and bake them for desert!. You could also wrap them in tin foil and throw them on the smoker for the last hour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I normally cook a pork roast in my crock pot!. I just add my favourite seasonings (garlic, sea salt, pepper, thyme, basil, oregano, onions, sundried tomatoes) - whatever I'm in the mood for!. I let it cook on low from about mid-morning until supper time!. A couple hours before supper, I throw in some chopped potatoes and baby carrots too!.
As for apples, my family's favourite is apple crisp!. Here is a recipe for a low-sugar apple crisp:
Fill a 9 X 13 inch pan with 1 ? inches of pealed, apple slices!. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon!. In a bowl, combine:
2 tbsp brown sugar
? cup margarine or butter
2 tbsp flour
? cup oats
? tsp cinnamon
Mix until crumbly!. Sprinkle over apples!. Bake at 350 degrees until fruit is tender
If your family likes things a bit sweeter, I would sprinkle the apples with a couple tablespoons of brown sugar before adding the topping, and double the topping ingredients!.
Hmm!.!.!. maybe I'll get out a pork roast and start an apple crisp for dinner!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My friend is the master of pork roast!. Here's what she does,
Preheat oven 300 to 325!.
Take porkroast, and season with salt, pepper, garlic!. then take some yellow mustard and rub on the top of the roast!. (I know it might not look good right now, but believe me it's worth it)
Then depending on how much it weighs, bake in oven for 1 1/2 hour per pound!. The lower heat the better!. The last hour and 1/2, chop up some potatos, skin on, and some carrots, and a onion into rings, and add to pan!.
Then the next day, with the left overs, sliced and shredd, add BBQ sauce, and there you go!. YUMMY!.
As far as the apples, Take the core out, fill with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon, and wrap in tin foil!. Bake for 45 minutes!. and serve with vanilla ice cream for dessert!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I haven't ever used apples!. But it could be good!. I usually use an onion, potatoes, sliced mushrooms and carrots!.
Brown your roast on all sides, then add 2/3 of the way full of water in crock pot!. Add one can mushroom soup!. Add all of your veggies, and two beef bullion cubes (optional)!. Then I let it cook on low overnight or while I'm gone at work for the day!. On high it would only take at the most 4 hours!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
