Answers:
All I've ever done is wash the gunk off, and take the stringy pumpkin guts off, which is time consuming!.

Then I heat the oven to 350!. I put just enough cooking oil, healthy oil if you prefer, to coat the seeds!. Not soaking but so that they're all shiny!. Spread them out on the cookie sheet in a single layer!. Put the cookie sheet in the oven when it reached 350!.

Give it about 20 minutes, but it could take longer!. You want the seeds to be golden brown, but not blackened!. No need to stir or turn them!.

After 20 minutes or more, take the seeds out, put them in a bowl to cool, then season as preferred!. I like them plain!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oh I've been doing this since at least 1989!.

Have my seeds from carving pumpkins in a collander!. I work off all the excess pumpkin (clean seeds) and rinse under cold water!. I lay them out on paper towels - sprinkle with salt!. (sometimes I use Smoked Salt for flavor)!. When almost dry I put them under a broiler in the oven - Not on the top rack - but rather in the middle!. I toast till starting to turn brown, then turn them all over!. I continue toasting and turning until a healthy brown color!. Remove from oven - eat hot!. Store the rest in a Ziplock and enjoy as wanted!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. never fails - they all disappear!Www@FoodAQ@Com
