Side dish for mac and cheese?!

Question: Side dish for mac and cheese!?
I'm making mac and cheese tonight for our main entree!. I'm serving some broccoli on the side, but does anyone have any other ideas for a second side!? I was thinking maybe a small baked potato, but I'm not sure if it would really go with the rest of the meal!.

Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some kind of meat, chicken or fish fried or grilled!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mac and cheese is a mushy thing, so you don't want another mushy thing on the plate, like a baked potato!. That would also be two starches!. Another vegetable would be okay, like asparagus or corn!. A salad is always appropriate!. And you could always do garlic bread if you're not on a diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

mac and cheese are a starch so you don't want to serve another starch like potatoes!.
You could serve pork and beans , baked beans, green or yellow beans!.
Beans are a protein and a better match for this dinner!.

I generally serve the Mac & Cheese as a side dish with a small skirt steak or a seasoned chicken breast and a salad!. But I guess you could do a salad and some garlic bread!. That would be good!. The Broccoli sounds good too, or you could serve a mixed veggie platter, and the garlic or any other kind of hard bread!.
Sorry wish I could be of more help!. Good Luck :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

A fruit salad would be nice!. Take a slice of pineapple, peach, or pear and put it on a piece of lettuce!. Put a spoonful of cottage cheese on top, a dollop of mayo and a maraschino cherry!. Very 1950s, I know, but still a nice addition!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, you don't want more starch, try carrots for colour contrast!.
Mixed veggies can be incorporated for colour & texture!.
Stewed tomatoes are also a nice complement!.
What you really need is some added protein; like meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No baked potato!. Too many starches!. Mac & cheese and broccoli and good enough!. If you want, perhaps you can grill or pan fry some Italian sausages!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like the idea of steamed broccoli and maybe a green salad or ceasar!? I think potato is a bit starchy for a side with a carb heavy meal like mac n cheese!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think mac and cheese is plenty of carbs no need for a backed potato what about some steamed carrots with smart balance maybe add in some peas!? or how about tomatoes with a little basil on them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
