How does chicken broth taste when put with beef in a crockpot?!

Question: How does chicken broth taste when put with beef in a crockpot!?
I woke up and was getting ready to make a beef roast!. Unfortunately when I went shopping I only grabbed chicken broth to go with my crock pot meals!. So I put the chicken broth in with the beef roast and am wondering if anyone else has made this blunder, and if it's going to hopefully taste good in a number of hours when the roast is done!. Either that or did I waste the roast by putting chicken broth in instead of beef!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Oh! I actually do that on purpose =) Chicken broth doesn't add any weird flavors, in fact to me it tastes better!. I think it's something to do with the underlying savory broth flavor of the chicken that really adds to the taste of the juices!. I've never put in beef broth!.

Additional tips:
What you can do is also add in an 8 oz!. packet of dry Gravy Mix, 8 oz!. packet of Italian Dressing, and an 8 oz!. packet of Ranch Dressing!. Mix all three powders together in a bowl and then sprinkle it on all sides of the beef roast after it' in the crock pot!. Then add 1 chopped onion and your can of chicken broth!. This is for a 3 - 3!.5lb roast!. SO yummy!.!.!.!. I wish I had some right now! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hi! You got some really good answers!. I agree with everyone when I say that it will be fine!. The "better than bouillon" is very good stuff & it's so much less salty!. The broth of any kind gives food that "all day" cooked great flavor even when you don't cook it all day!. Having worked in a lot of Restaurants I've learned a lot of tricks over the years & another good one is to mix chicken & beef broth to make pork gravy mix!. You don't always get anything but grease off of a pork roast & mixing the two, gives you a great base for some gravy for all your pork dishes!. Yep, the chicken broth won't hurt a thing & you may find you like the taste! Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think it's going to be a big deal at all, you probably won't even notice!. The beef stewing in there for so long will give it a lot of flavor!. By the way, there's this great stuff called Better Than Bouillon, its like a paste!. Its sold by the regular bouillon and you use it just the same way!. It tastes great, like real stock, not nearly as salty or artificial-tasting as other bouillons and it makes a TON!. Its great to have on hand for these kind of emergencies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do that all the time -- beef broth is just too salty!.

As a matter of fact, I use chicken broth as a base for most of my recipes that call for water (even in beef), such as beans, chili, stew, etc!.

The beef is a much stronger flavor than the chicken!.!.The chicken broth will assume the flavor of the beef! Don't worry, it will be fine! You can even use chicken broth in beef soups with no trouble!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Add a little BBQ sauce to the brothWww@FoodAQ@Com
