Some Caesar salad dressing has small fish called anchovy in it!. Here is a recipe:

1 recipe Caesar dressing, omitting Parmesan cheese (below)
1 lg!. head romaine
6 anchovy filets, drained and chopped
1 clove garlic
1 egg
1/4 c!. crumbled blue cheese
2 tbsp!. grated Parmesan cheese
Juice of 1/2 lemon
3 whole anchovy fillets

Prepare dressing; refrigerate 1 hour!.
Trim core from romaine!. Separate into leaves, discarding wilted or discolored ones!. Place in salad basket!. Rinse under cold, running water; shake well to remove excess moisture!. (Or wash under cold running water; drain and dry on paper towels!.) Place romaine in a plastic bag; store in refrigerator until crisp and cold, several hours or overnight!.

Add chopped anchovies to dressing!. Keep refrigerated!. Rub garlic clove into the surface of a large wooden salad bowl and then discard!.

In a small saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to boiling!. Turn off heat!. Carefully lower egg into water; let stand 1 minute, then lift out!. Set aside to cool!.

Cut the coarse ribs from large leaves of romaine!. Tear in bite size pieces into salad bowl!. Shake dressing well and pour 1/2 cup over romaine!.

Sprinkle with both kinds of cheese!. Toss until all romaine is coated with salad dressing!. Break egg over center of salad!. Pour lemon juice directly over egg; toss well!. Garnish top with the whole anchovies, if desired!.

There's no fish in mayonnaise!. But here's my recipe for homemade mayonnaise if you want to make it yourself!.!.!.

HOMEMADE MAYONNAISE

Ingredients:

* 2 egg yolks
* 3/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon powdered mustard
* 1/8 teaspoon sugar
* Pinch cayenne pepper
* 4 to 5 teaspoons lemon juice or white vinegar
* 1-1/2 cups olive or other salad oil
* 4 teaspoons hot water

Preparation:

Beat yolks, salt, mustard, sugar, pepper, and 1 teaspoon lemon juice in a small bowl until very thick and pale yellow!. (Note: If using electric mixer, beat at medium speed!.) Add about 1/4 cup oil, drop by drop, beating vigorously all the while!. Beat in 1 teaspoon each lemon juice and hot water!. Add another 1/4 cup oil, a few drops at a time, beating vigorously all the while!. Beat in another teaspoon each lemon juice and water!. Add 1/2 cup oil in a very fine steady stream, beating constantly, then mix in remaining lemon juice and water; slowly beat in remaining oil!. If you like, thin mayonnaise with a little additional hot water!. Cover and refrigerate until needed!. Do not keep longer than 1 week!.

No, not at all!. You could check the back lable!. If you are still questioning, make your own!. I do and it is a million times better!. Unfortunately it doesnt last too long since the home made stuff does not have the preservatives like in the jar, but you have total control over the flavors!. See video below to get you started (I do the same thing but with a blender and no mustard)!. You can add roasted peppers, or gralic, or shalots, or other spices as you wish!. Its easiest with a blender, but you can do it by had as well!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, mayonnaise doesn't include any sort of fish by-product!. Eggs, oil seasoning, and sometimes an acid (like lemon juice) simply emulsified!. Now, if your friend is thinking of an aioli (flavored mayo), that can often include anchovies, depending on the recipe!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Absolutely not!! Mayo is made of egg yolks, oil, vinegar, a little salt and paprika!.

He may be thinking of a cesar dressing which would have anchovies, a small fish added for flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No

Basically oil and egg yolks!. Typically an emulsifier like dry mustard and mild spices are added!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

mayo is just eggs,oil,and lemon!.!.!.Worcestershire sauce is made of anchovies!.perhaps she was confused!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
